How to Prepare
Decision Making: This is the game-changer. Practice caselets daily from XAT-specific books and past papers. Focus on structured, ethical, and logical reasoning.
VLA & QA: XAT focuses on the depth of understanding. Spend more time on quality practice over quantity, particularly for Critical Reasoning and advanced Quant concepts.
Time Management: XAT traditionally does not have sectional time limits, allowing you to allocate 175 minutes to 3 sections (VLA, DM, QA&DI) plus 5 minutes for GK.
Expert Preparation Tips
- Start early – 6-8 months is ideal.
- Focus more on accuracy than attempting all questions.
- Read newspapers & editorials daily for VARC.
- Use timers while solving DILR sets.
- Don’t ignore revision – it’s as important as new learning.
- Solve 2-3 full-length mocks every week in the last 3 months.
